Drug & Alcohol Education Built for Driver Education
We build drug and impaired-driving curriculum around your state’s own data and laws, train your instructors to teach it, and certify them as drug educators.
A drug and alcohol curriculum built for your state
Students take impaired-driving lessons more seriously when the numbers, roads and laws are their own. We work with your state agency or association to build a classroom-ready curriculum around local data, then train your instructors to deliver it.
Plan together
We meet with your driver-ed office or association to set goals, grade levels and how the lessons fit your program.
Build with your data
Lessons use your state’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey, highway patrol and DOT crash data, and your impaired-driving laws.
Train your instructors
At your state conference, in a live online session or on site.
Support and certify
Instructors get the full curriculum and materials, and can earn Drug Educator Certification.
What the curriculum covers
- Alcohol and the driving task: the teen brain, BAC, and why only time lowers it
- Drugs and driving: concentration, coordination, perception and reaction time
- The drugs teens encounter: marijuana, vaping, prescription drugs, fentanyl, counterfeit pills and more
- Your state's numbers: youth survey, crash and drug-trend data, with sources shown
- Your state's laws: minor-in-possession and DUI rules, with real penalties
- Real-life decisions: scenarios, refusal skills, and getting the keys from an impaired friend
A complete curriculum built around your state’s data and laws, plus slides, videos and discussion guides for every topic.
No budget? Don’t let that stop you. Your program may qualify for a Drug Educators Alliance grant that covers the full cost.
Teach it in class, or let students learn on their own
Our online portal puts the full curriculum in one place. Instructors can teach it live in class, or give each student a login to take the lessons on their own.
Portal preview. Final design may differ.
Teach live or assign it
Present lessons from the portal in class, or send students their own logins.
See what changed
Built-in pre- and post-program surveys show how students' understanding and views changed after the course.
Priced for whole programs
$199 per year covers up to 5,000 student logins. Add more in blocks of 5,000 for $199 each.
No funding? Ask about a grant.
Funding should never be the reason students go without.
Programs without a budget may qualify for a Drug Educators Alliance grant to cover the curriculum, portal and instructor training. Tell us what you need, and we’ll work to raise the funds.
Take-home drug-fact booklets, shipped free
Each student gets free Drug-Free World booklets to read at home on the drug topics covered in the course. Tell us how many you need, and we’ll ship them free to each school, anywhere in the world.
How Montana built its own curriculum
At the 2026 Montana Traffic Education Conference, co-hosted by the Montana Traffic Education Association and the Office of Public Instruction, more than 100 driver-ed instructors trained on a curriculum built with Montana’s own data.

Become a Certified Drug Educator
Driver-ed instructors are often the last adults to talk with teens about drugs and alcohol before they drive alone. Our eight-hour live training gives them the knowledge and teaching skills to make that conversation count.
Live online: $199 per instructor (Q4 special)
Private on-site: $3,500 per day for up to 20 instructors
No training budget? You may qualify for a grant that covers the cost.
Continuing education rules vary by state. We provide a course packet you can submit to your state driver-ed office for review; approval is up to that office.
8 hours, live
Instructor-led on Zoom, or private on-site training for your whole team.
2-year certification
Earned after the course assessment. Renew every two years with a 2.5-hour update.
Ready-to-use curriculum
Lesson plans, activities and discussion prompts instructors can use the next class.

Questions from driver education leaders
Can you build a drug and alcohol curriculum for our state?
Yes. We work with your state driver-ed office or association to build lessons around your state’s data and impaired-driving laws, as we did with Montana’s Office of Public Instruction and Traffic Education Association.
How much does a custom state curriculum cost?
$999, one time, to build a curriculum around your state’s data and laws. It may cost your program nothing: programs without a budget may qualify for a Drug Educators Alliance grant that covers the full cost.
What if our program doesn't have the budget?
Funding shouldn’t stop you. Programs without a budget may qualify for a Drug Educators Alliance grant to cover the curriculum, portal and instructor training. Tell us what you need, and we’ll work to raise the funds.
How does the online portal work, and what does it cost?
Instructors can teach lessons live in class through the portal or give students their own logins. Access is $199 per year for up to 5,000 student logins, with more available in blocks of 5,000 for $199 each, and a grant may cover it if your program has no budget. The portal launches in Q4 2026.
How do we know the training worked?
The portal includes pre- and post-program surveys, so you can see how students’ understanding of drugs and their views on drug use and impaired driving changed after the course.
Do students get materials to take home?
Yes. Every student can receive free Drug-Free World booklets on the drug topics in the course. Tell us how many you need, and we ship them free to each school, anywhere in the world.
Does Drug Educator Certification count toward our instructors' continuing education?
That depends on your state. We provide a course packet your state driver-ed office can review for continuing education credit; approval is up to that office.
Give your students the facts before they get the keys.
Tell us about your state or program, and we’ll show you what a custom curriculum and instructor certification could look like.
